Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before getting started — pricing, process, minimums, and more.

Getting Started

What is the minimum order?

+

250 units per run for most services — labeling, co-packing, kitting, and FBA prep. Storage has no minimum unit count, only a per-pallet rate. Pick & pack fulfillment has no per-run minimum, but we do require inventory to be stored with us first.

If you're close to 250, reach out anyway. We'll tell you if we can accommodate it.

Do I need a long-term contract?

+

No. You can start with a single run and pay per job. If you want a commitment discount (10% at 3 months, 15% at 6 months), we do a simple letter of intent — nothing legally binding beyond the discount window.

How do I get started?

+

Submit a Request for Quote. Tell us your product, service needed, and estimated unit count. We'll respond within 24 hours with exact pricing and a timeline. From there:

  • Review and approve the quote
  • Pay 50% deposit to schedule
  • Ship inventory to our Carbondale, IL facility
  • Approve a test run (5–10 units)
  • Full job executes, you get a completion report

How long does a quote take?

+

24 hours or less for standard services with enough detail in the RFQ. Complex kitting or custom co-packing jobs may require a follow-up call before quoting. The more detail you provide upfront (unit count, label size, SKU count, etc.), the faster we can respond.

Do you work with startups or first-time sellers?

+

Yes — that's a big part of our customer base. Low minimums, transparent pricing, and no contracts are specifically designed for businesses that are growing but not yet running enterprise volumes. We've worked through first shipments with plenty of founders who are new to outsourcing.

Where are you located?

+

Carbondale, Illinois — Southern Illinois, near I-57. We serve clients nationally. You ship inventory to our facility; we handle all the work and ship outbound from here.

Exact facility address is provided once a job is scheduled via the RFQ process.

Pricing

Where can I see your full rate card?

+

Everything is on the Pricing page. We publish all rates publicly — no "call for pricing" runaround. You can also use the live price estimator on that page to calculate a job estimate before submitting an RFQ.

What does labeling cost?

+

$0.08 per unit for machine-applied labels. That covers application only — you supply the label rolls, or order them from Desktop Industrial and have them ship directly to us.

What does FBA prep cost?

+

$0.60 per unit, all-in. That flat rate covers everything Amazon requires: FNSKU labeling, poly bagging, bubble wrap for fragile items, carton packing per your shipment plan, and carton labels. No per-step line items, no surprises on your invoice.

What does kitting cost?

+

Kitting is priced by complexity:

  • Simple (2–3 SKU): $0.60 per kit
  • Standard (3–5 SKU): $0.99 per kit
  • Complex (5+ SKU or multi-step assembly): Custom quote

A $50 project setup fee applies to first-time kitting jobs. Reorders skip the setup fee — your assembly guide stays on file.

What does pick and pack fulfillment cost?

+

$1.50 base per order plus $0.20 per item. Storage for inventory is $12 per pallet per month. Inbound receiving is $25 per pallet or $0.60 per carton.

Are there any hidden fees?

+

No. Everything is published on the pricing page. The only additional cost that might surprise first-time clients: if we need to source packaging materials on your behalf (boxes, poly bags, tape), we pass through at cost + 10%. We'll tell you this upfront in your quote.

Do you offer volume discounts?

+

Yes — commitment discounts, not volume discounts. 10% off with a 3-month commitment, 15% off with a 6-month commitment. These apply to all services under the commitment. For very high volume (10,000+ units/run), contact us for custom pricing.

What are your payment terms?

+
  • 50% deposit required to schedule any job
  • Balance due within 3 business days of job completion
  • Storage billed monthly
  • Pick & pack billed weekly
  • We accept ACH, check, and major credit cards (3% card surcharge)
Services

What labeling equipment do you use?

+

We run Zap Labeler semi-automatic labeling systems — the same equipment that company manufactures and sells. Application rates of 800–1,500 units per hour depending on product type. Machine application is significantly more consistent than hand application, especially for barcodes and FNSKU labels that require accurate placement.

Can you source packaging materials for me?

+

Yes. Through our partner Desktop Industrial, we can source boxes, poly bags, tape, label rolls, bubble wrap, and most packaging consumables. We pass through at cost + 10% and include it in your job quote. Alternatively, you can order from Desktop Industrial directly and ship to us.

What types of labels can you apply?

+
  • Product labels (front, back, full-wrap)
  • Barcode and SKU labels
  • FNSKU labels (Amazon)
  • Price tags
  • Compliance and warning labels
  • Promotional stickers and seasonal labels

We run a test application on 5–10 units and send you photos before running the full job.

What is co-packing and do you do it?

+

Co-packing (contract packaging) means moving your product from one package format to another — rebagging, reboxing, rebundling, shrink-wrapping. Yes, we do it at $0.32/unit for standard work. If your job involves significant assembly or tooling, we'll quote it separately.

Do you handle subscription box kitting?

+

Yes. Subscription boxes are a common kitting job — typically 3–6 SKUs assembled into a mailer or box with inserts. We document your assembly guide, run a test kit, and execute on a schedule that matches your fulfillment cadence. Monthly recurring jobs skip the $50 setup fee after the first run.

Can you handle fragile or high-value products?

+

Yes, with some caveats. We handle fragile items with bubble wrap and appropriate void fill. We're not a white-glove luxury fulfillment house — if you're shipping $500 watches, we may not be the right fit. For most consumer goods, electronics accessories, health and beauty, and similar categories, we're well-equipped.

FBA & Amazon

What does your FBA prep include?

+

Everything Amazon requires, covered in our $0.60/unit all-in rate:

  • FNSKU label applied over manufacturer barcode
  • Poly bagging with suffocation warning (where required by Amazon)
  • Bubble wrap for fragile items
  • Carton packing per your Amazon shipment plan
  • Carton labels (Amazon box ID labels) applied to every carton
  • Cartons photographed before sealing

How do I get FNSKU labels to you?

+

Two options: print them yourself and ship with your inventory, or email us the PDF from Seller Central and we'll print on our end at no extra charge. To get FNSKU labels: log into Seller Central, go to Inventory → Manage Inventory, find your ASIN, and select "Print item labels."

FNSKU labels are ASIN-specific — one label per product, not interchangeable between ASINs.

Can you create the Amazon shipment plan?

+

No — Amazon shipment plans must be created by the account holder in Seller Central. You send us the shipment plan (which tells us destination FC, units per carton, and carton count), and we pack and label to spec. We can walk you through creating a plan if you're new to FBA.

What happens if Amazon rejects the shipment?

+

If a rejection is due to an error on our end (wrong label placement, missing poly bag, etc.), we'll remediate at no charge. If it's due to a shipment plan issue on the seller's side or an Amazon policy change we weren't notified about, we'll quote the re-work separately. We photograph every carton before sealing as documentation.

Do you ship directly to Amazon FCs?

+

Yes. We drop outbound FBA shipments to your designated Amazon fulfillment center using your carrier account or ours at cost + 5%. We provide tracking numbers and confirm delivery.

Shipping & Logistics

How do I ship inventory to you?

+

Ship via any carrier — UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL freight. We accept pallets and loose cartons. The facility address is provided after your quote is approved and deposit is received. Include your company name and job reference number on all shipments so we can match it to your job when it arrives.

What happens when my inventory arrives?

+

We receive, count, and inspect everything on arrival. You get a confirmation same day with unit count. If there's a discrepancy between what you shipped and what arrived, we document it with photos and notify you immediately. We only bill for what we actually receive.

Do you handle outbound shipping to customers?

+

For pick & pack fulfillment clients, yes. We pack orders and hand off to your carrier (UPS, FedEx, or USPS). You can use your own carrier account or ours at cost + 5%. We send you tracking numbers daily. We don't broker inbound freight for incoming shipments to our facility.

How do I send you orders for fulfillment?

+

CSV or email. You send us an order file (we provide a template) with ship-to addresses, SKUs, and quantities. Orders received before our daily cutoff ship same day. We're working on direct integrations with Shopify and WooCommerce — ask us about the current status.

Operations

How long does a typical job take?

+
  • Labeling: 1–2 business days after inventory arrives
  • FBA prep: 1–3 business days after inventory arrives
  • Co-packing: 2–4 business days
  • Kitting (simple): 2–3 business days
  • Kitting (complex/first run): 3–5 business days

Timelines are confirmed in your quote. Rush jobs can sometimes be accommodated — ask.

Do you do a test run before the full job?

+

Yes, always. We run 5–10 units, photograph the results, and send them to you for approval before proceeding with the full job. This catches any setup issues before they affect your entire inventory. No additional charge for the test run.

What quality control do you do?

+
  • Visual inspection of inbound inventory on arrival
  • Test run (5–10 units) before full job execution
  • Periodic spot checks during the run (every 50–100 units)
  • Final count before completion report
  • Carton photos before sealing on FBA prep jobs

We document and report any defects or inconsistencies found in your inventory.

What if my unit count is off when inventory arrives?

+

We count everything on arrival and notify you same day. If the count is short, we document with photos and only bill for what arrived. If you're short of the 250-unit minimum due to a shipping loss, contact us — we'll work something out depending on the situation.

Can I visit the facility?

+

Yes, by appointment. Contact us to schedule. We're based in Carbondale, IL. If you're a local Southern Illinois business, we encourage a walk-through before your first job.

What happens to leftover inventory after a job?

+

We hold it in storage (billed at $12/pallet/month) until you arrange pickup or outbound shipment. We'll notify you when the job completes and confirm your disposition preference. Inventory is never discarded without explicit written approval.
